This is the first of the two portraits I completed. Again, my teacher Dorothy Appel pushed me to try a portrait. It was based on a black and white photo taken in the late 1800s. The painting took many many hours to complete, but once you got the eyes right, the rest of the painting was a lot easier. This painting is part of my personal collection and still hangs in my condo.
